Shopping for newborn baby gifts can be a bit of an unforgiving experience. The only creatures as indecisive and moody as babies, are their parents. So when getting new baby gifts, you really need to play it safe. Don't try to get subtle things for newborn baby gifts, try to get something that the parents will definitely appreciate. .

The ideal way to buy baby clothing is to make sure you have enough outfits to get you through the week in a couple of different sizes, but not so many that you have overflowing drawers of baby outfits that haven't even been unwrapped before your baby gets too big to wear them; or duplicate clothing that you didn't really need.

Baby Gift Hampers

Depending on your budget, you could make up a beautiful hamper full of practical gifts for both baby and mother. If your budget is limited you could line a pretty box with some coloured tissue paper or shredded paper then add some small practical items that don't cost too much such as baby bottles, baby dummies, hairbrush, bibs, socks and such like.

Imagine about how the baby will be laying on the article of clothing and how the ornaments may be annoying or even noxious. The worst matter to overlook when purchasing clothes for baby is the actuality that the parent will have to put this baby clothes on the baby and get them off again.

As mentioned before we had a hard time finding clothes and wasted a lot of gifts (ended up donating it to Good Will and Salvation Army) we received from our family and friends. In retrospect, our son was already 3-6 months old in terms of clothing sizes! If only all the clothing brands had the weight and height on the sizes of their apparels, it would have made our lives much less stressful.

o 6 months - weight: 12.5-16.5 lbs., height: less than 24-26.5 in. tall
o 9 months - weight: 16.5-20.5 lbs., height: less than 26.5-28.5 in. tall
o 12 months - weight: 20.5-24.5 lbs., height: less than 28.5-30.5 in. tall
o 18 months - weight: 24.5-27.5 lbs., height: less than 30.5-32.5 in. tall
o 24 months - weight: 27.5-30 lbs., height: less than 32.5-34 in. tall
