Being a teenage single parent may have a lot of drawbacks but it can never be compared to the rewards of being able to raise a child and becoming a good parent. What is causing this influx of teenage pregnancy? Some believe that it’s a matter of a lack of sexual education. Teen pregnancy is one of the most difficult experiences a young person could ever face. It can interrupt school or other plans in their young lives. Furthermore, as teenage pregnancy is often unplanned, the incident may throw all plans into disarray. For example, the teenage may have made plans to pursue an education or a new and exciting career. Now that a baby has come into the picture, all plans may have to be shelved. The baby has to come first.

Along with social problems, such young mothers face a host of health problems. The body of a woman is not ready physically or psychologically to bear a child at such a tender age. The teen faces problems whether she terminates the pregnancy or continues it. If she decides to terminate, there can be problems in conception later.

Even in this modern age, people are still embarrassed to talk to their children about sex and its consequences.
