As a pregnant mother you should be prepared to be patient and ready to endure the worst levels of stress and fatigue during these weeks of your pregnancy. If you have an open heart and mind you should be able to handle the latest set of discomforts to experience during your pregnancy.You are now 31 weeks pregnant.

Prepare yourself for the decline in comfort levels since your body is prepared for more rooms of growth. You increase in bulk and your baby definitely accumulates layers of fat. The baby continues to occupy more room in your womb as he reaches 18 inches and 3 and ½ pounds. The growing of your baby makes the skin less wrinkled and movements become irregular. This week, the mother begins to experience colostrum leakage.

Twenty One Through Twenty Four:

At this stage of pregnancy, your baby will begin practicing breathing in order to be ready for this job when he or she is born. You may feel slight contractions during this time as your uterus begins preparing for the task at hand. By week twenty four, your baby begins to develop fat deposits in order to regulate body temperature after birth.

A pregnancy calendar generally makes the following information available.

1. The growth and development that the fetus must achieve in each week of pregnancy,

2. The physical and the emotional changes that the mother-to-be undergoes and coping with these changes,

3. Nutritional requirements and exercises for a health pregnancy,

4. The do's and don'ts during the nine months.

It seems as though pregnancy week by week gets harder and harder on the expecting mother. Surprisingly, the first week of your pregnancy you aren't even pregnant yet! Instead, it starts with the first day of your last menstrual cycle. This is only true when you're counting with the gestational age method, which most doctors and pregnancy counters do. To help get pregnant, there are many things you need to do. First, stop smoking and drinking. Once you've done that, make sure to begin your pregnancy diet by eating tons of fruits and veggies.

The Phases Of Pregnancy

Based on the biological developments, the nine long months of pregnancy can be broken down into phases of three months. Whilst you observe your pregnancy week by week your body, per se, remains ignorant of the change for the first three weeks. It is the fourth week that marks the prelude of the elaborate symphony unfolding inside you. That is when you start feeling the morning sickness- the preliminary sign of pregnancy.

Positive Pregnancy Test

The next and best sign that you are pregnant is a positive pregnancy test. Home pregnancy tests measure the pregnancy hormone hCG in your urine. The most sensitive home pregnancy tests will show a positive result when the hCG levels reach 20, which can happen as early as four days before your period is due, or approximately 10 days after ovulation.

False negatives are common when testing early with a home pregnancy test, so I recommend you wait to use one until eighteen days after ovulation to avoid false negatives. The usual recommendation is to wait until 14 days after ovulation before testing.
